Grants to Title I Elementary Schools

Grants to Title I Schools in low-income communities to expand and enhance the educational experience for the students. Maximum grant amount is $5000 for 2022/2023.  All grant applications must be received no later than October 31st of each year.

Eligibility: To apply your school must be a Title 1 School in Zip Code 33004 or 33020 in Broward County, Florida. (Charter Schools and Centers are not eligible.) Eligible Schools are shown here:

A school may receive one grant per school year of up to $5000. Schools that demonstrate that these funds made a real difference in the learning experience of their students may be eligible for higher grants in subsequent years.

Examples of how a grant may be used include, but are not limited, to the following: academic banquets, athletic banquets, academic achievement awards, teacher and student incentives, band instruments, science center equipment, school trips, etc. If the grant cannot be used as described in the application, then a revision to the application can be made to allow substitution of the use. For instance, during COVID a school was unable to host an academic banquet and was allowed to use the funds for teacher and student incentives instead.

Schools that receive funding agree to the following:

        1. To provide a written report on school letterhead by May 31 of each school year on how the funds were used.
        2. To provide pictures of students and faculty that demonstrate the funds in action with the written report. (minimum 5-8 pictures)

Please comply with these requirements to be qualified to apply in a future year.
